Important decisions are pending: What issues should our society discuss? How do we want to talk to each other? How should we make decisions as a community? What rules do we want to set for ourselves? Equipped with conference headphones, the pupils listen to each other, gather ideas and make decisions. With great enthusiasm, the participatory performance brings to life how democratic decision-making processes can emerge and that everyone has the opportunity to help shape the future.
Practising democracy
The ‘Starke Stücke’ festival makes democracy accessible. Artists, pedagogues and audiences want to practise democracy together. To make this happen, we explore libraries, classrooms and public spaces in the region and, together with young people, investigate how cultural spaces can be reappropriated and transformed into spaces of poetry and political practice.
We are delighted to be able to realise our project as part of World Design Capital Frankfurt Rhine-Main 2026 with funding from the Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft and the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
Performance: Till Beckmann, Jennifer Ewert, Moritz Fleiter, Fabian Sattler
Scenography: Annette Pfisterer
